Win, Lose… or Tie?

“Win, Lose, or Tie” is a great conversation about ones perspective on retirement planning.

When it comes to how you look at your money in the race to retirement, would you like your “current” lifestyle to win, your “future” lifestyle (retirement) to win, or would you like a tie”?

Losing either isn’t an appealing option, but many folks have a plan to “lose” — if only because they have no plan at all.

Anyway…

It may take you a little time to think through what I just asked. This question may get you thinking about retirement from a different point of view.

If you are having a little trouble coming up with an answer, askyourself this question. “Which is winning (controlling your financial decisions) today… paying for your current lifestyle or saving for your future lifestyle?

At some point in our future we will all be faced with “where our money will come from when we can no longer work or chooseto stop?”

In our culture a “tie” is normally less than desirable but when it comes to financial planning a “tie” may be the BEST position.

A “tie” represents a balanced financial plan which means that you will have enough money put away for your future that when you wish to retire you can enjoy the SAME standard of living you enjoytoday adjusted for inflation and enough money to last throughout your lifetime.

Financially, that type of a “tie” sounds like a win to me.

I help clients determine the balance necessary between their currentand future lifestyles today and help develop a plan to secure a “TIE” by retirement often without impacting their current lifestyle today.

In other words, I help clients FIND the money to invest for their futurewithout changing how they enjoy life today.

The sooner you (or your adult children) begin, the better the resultscan be. If you (or someone you love) aren’t on track because “life”is getting in the way, maybe it’s time to look at some alternatives.

I’m not a magician, but I do this every week for my clients and I can probably do it for you too.

all the best… Mark
